The Carrolls originated back in the 1970s as The Gospelaires. Hugh Carroll was content to play the guitar, mandolin, and sing backup until the bandleader suddenly moved away - pushing Hugh into the role of manager and frontman. What happened throughout the next 38 years of ministry can only be attributed to the hand of God. Over 3,000 concerts and 3, 040 decisions to follow Jesus. The group changed many faces over the years, and The Carroll Puppets were added bringing joy to generations of children and adults alike. Eventually, Rusty and Becky's daughters, Bella, Grace, and Lydia, grew in their musicianship-continuing the legacy of The Carrolls.
We officially came off of the road 10 years ago as Rusty and I focused on raising the girls and starting our real estate business. Now, Bella is married with two children and sings in the choir at Thomas Road Baptist Church at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Grace is married with one daughter and has her own music studio alongside her songwriting. Lydia is pursuing musical theater.
Rusty and I have decided to pick up where we left off. Depending on where the event is located, the girls may join along to add their harmonies. And so will Hugh, at 93 years young he is still willing to go wherever the road leads!

This is a blast from the past, 13 years ago! Incredible to see how the girls have grown. Hugh was just about to turn 80. We no longer perform with the puppets but they sure were a crowd pleaser back in the day.

We still have a box or two of our puppet DVDs. They are timeless and children love watching them! My ventriloquist buddy B.J. makes an appearance on the Live in Concert DVD.
